Using a customer's phone to phone for stock

I visited the Westgate branch of Shoe City looking to buy 9 pairs of shoes for our employees. Westgate did not have all of the sizes that I needed and I asked that they be so kind as to phone the other branches in the area in order to find out whether they have any in stock.

The attendant informed me that their phone was not working and that she would have to use my cell phone to phone the other branches.

This is exceptionally bad service - making use of a client's phone, especially considering the amount I then paid for the sizes which they did have, which includes their overheads and telephone system etc. So I paid basically twice. The attendant did offer to whatsapp the other branches but advised me that though is cheaper for me it will take longer and the best would be for them to just phone from my cell phone.

I informed the attendant that this is not good customer service at all (a few times) she did not respond and continued to phone from my phone. I should think that if you are going to make money out of about 8 pairs of shoes that a customer intends to buy you would at least try to give a good service or make some other plan to not inconvenience the customer.
