Poor product quality

Received a pair of sandals from shoe city as a gift. Only used the product a few and product was given to me around 6 months ago. Soul of the shoe cracked due to poor quality although it was not the most reasonably priced shoe. Called the shoe city complaints department who advised that nothing could be done because it was a gift to me and I had no receipt. Automatically after telling me this the customer service agent could not hear me over the phone when I started to tell her that it was disappointing to note that nothing could be done. Very disappointed with the product and service of shoe city management.
