Pepkor / ShoeCity Online – Shockingly Bad Service & Zero Accountability

Order Date: 2 December Promised Delivery: 7 December Rescheduled Delivery: 10 December Current Status: No delivery. No support. No answers.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with ShoeCity Online, which falls under the Pepkor Group. I placed an order on the 2nd of December, and delivery was scheduled for the 7th of December. I wasn’t home, so the courier marked the delivery for rescheduling on the 09th of December.

Tuesday came and went with no delivery, and that was the end of any updates. No communication, no follow-up, nothing.

When I tried to track the parcel, the problems became even worse: • The support number provided on the tracking for “Pepkor Lifestyle” shows up as spam on Truecaller. • The support email bounces back. • The provided tracking and support channels go nowhere and provide no real assistance.

This morning, I spent over an hour phoning Pepkor Head Office, Pepkor Speciality, and ShoeCity directly. It is impossible to get through to anyone. Calls drop after 10–15 minutes, and no one knows who handles online orders. You get bounced around, and ultimately no one can help you.

If you look on HelloPeter, it becomes even clearer: ShoeCity do not respond to customer complaints at all. There is absolutely no accountability.

It’s honestly shocking that I can order from China and receive my package faster, with proper communication and real customer service — yet ordering locally results in this level of incompetence. How is that acceptable?

Pepkor may be in the process of selling ShoeCity, but that does not excuse the complete collapse of service. Their online operation is a disaster: No functioning contact details, no escalation path, no follow-up, and no accountability whatsoever.

I’m posting this to warn other consumers: Avoid ShoeCity Online services. You will receive no support, no communication, and no resolution if something goes wrong.
