Breach of terms and conditions #termsandconditionING

I placed and order on 02/02/2019. Having read the terms and conditions, delivery was stated to take place between 1-5 working days. Friday 08/02/2019 was the 5th working day. I followed up on my order on day 4 (Thu) of which the online assistant confirmed it will be processed and dispatched for delivery on Friday. Nothing was received. After following up again, it will be delivered today. Just curious, what is the purpose of terms and conditions if it cannot be met by the company?
