Pregnant and food deprived
I am Pregnant and was admitted yesterday Friday 11th September 2026, Maternity ward, bed 1.8. The hospital itself and the nurses are great, however, the kitchen needs to catch a wake up. I requested large portions for my food,but recieved food i would feed my 7yr old and he probably wouldn't be full. I then requested and emphasized that for breakfast I would like my eggs to be well done as a runny yolk gives me hives. In the morning I recieved my breakfast,which was 1 fish cake,slice of tomatoe, 1 RUNNY EGG and 1 slice of bread. I requested that my egg be redone and well done. To my dismay I recieved another plate of breakfast with another runny egg. Upon requesting the kitchen to please redo my egg again, they took both my plates and brought back nothing, so I ended up breakfastless. That's when I decided to get food from the coffee shop. For the rest of the day today, the very nonchalant lady serving me my food continued to bring me small portions of food and did not even acknowledge that she took my breakfast earlier and did not bring it back. So I figured the kitchen staff are not capable of cooking an egg through, and maybe that's why I was left breakfastless. The nonchalant lady came to take my order for tomorrow and I requested an alternative from eggs cause the kitchen cannot make well done eggs and she said the only other option is toast or A ****in. Not happy at all. If it wasn't for the nursing staff who make the stay bearable, I probably would have discharged myself so I can go home and have proper meals.
