Pathetic Service at Bon Hotel 64 Gordon Road Durban, South Africa
I have been staying at this facility since 2014 and had the displeasure of visiting in September 2019. I lost my nephew in a tragic bike accident in September 2019 and booked into Bon Hotel in Gordon Road as the funeral was in his hometown of Durban. I booked online and was given a figure of approximately R960 per night and on arrival I was told that it would be R1200 . I obviously protested and was told by a lady who identified herself as the NEW General Manager; that they had revised the way the business was run and that rates were flexible and dependant on occupancy; very displeased and booked in. I elected to pay on departure which is what I had been doing for years and no sooner were my son and I in the room that I received a call from reception and told to settle my bill immediately as per instruction from the new GM. I cancelled the other days, paid for the night and relocated to another The hospitality industry is just that and when one is confronted with an egotistical individual who exercisers very little diplomacy it leaves much to be desired, the former GM Tarryn was a GEM of an individual who made it her duty to know every guest by name and would always go out of her way to greet and enquire about ones stay. Even though I was a BON member I destroyed my card and now stay at the hotel that Tarryn managers in Durban, great loss to the erstwhile Hotel 64 oon Gordon Being a business owner< I cannot understand how an employee who possesses general manager status can treat guests, who pay her salary is such despicable fashion.
