Uncalibrated fuel pumps

<p>So today I went to fill up my car at Shell (Wellington, Western Cape). My tank was at 1/4 when I pulled in and its computer told me that I still had a range of 130km. I asked the attendant to fill up my car. I always check that the pump is zeroed. He started to fill up my car and filled it with 47 liters, according to Volkswagen website the car has a 45 liter tank (2016 Polo). So how on earth do you fit 47 liters in a 45 liter tank that is 't even empty?! The only possible answer is that their pumps aren't calibrated, which is shocking because then they are *****ing from us all!</p>
