Unacceptable and Unprofessional Service – Shell Dakota Kroonstad

I refueled my vehicle at the Shell Dakota service station in Kroonstad, where I also requested that the oil level and tyre pressure be checked. The attendant who assisted me was without question the most unfriendly and unprofessional individual I have encountered in all the years that I have been refueling at Dakota.

I specifically requested that my tyres be inflated to 2.2 bar in the front and 2.3 bar at the rear. When I checked the electronic gauge, I noticed that the attendant had set the front tyres to only 2.1 bar. When I politely pointed this out and asked her to correct it to 2.2 bar, she stared at me as though I had no right to question or correct the error she had made.

When checking the oil, it was clear that the attendant was far more concerned about her fingernails than about performing her duties efficiently and professionally.

At the point of payment, the card machine declined the transaction, indicating that the card needed to be inserted. The attendant became visibly frustrated and proceeded with the transaction without reprocessing my V+ card. As a direct result, I lost my rewards on an amount of R1,339.90.

I am fully aware that my monthly fuel expenditure of between R4,000 and R5,000 may be insignificant to any fuel station. However, Shell Dakota has now lost my support. I will be taking my business to another service station where customers are treated with the respect, professionalism, and courtesy they deserve.
