Poor to no assistance after a theft case at the Shell Ultra City Klerksdorp

Yesterday 05/04/21 my colleague and I were driving from Johannesburg to Postmasburg. As is our custom we would stop at the Shell Ultra City at Klerksdorp to fill up with petrol, stretch our legs and get a bite to eat I requested the petrol attendant to fill up. I got out the car and and was distracted by by a pedestrian who started to talk about his car Unfortunately I became a statistic,. My colleagues laptop and my cellphone were expropriated without compensation ( ******) whilst I was being distracted That the car was not locked I take responsibility for. What was however extremely disappointing was the lack of assistance we got from the forecourt supervisor and the tellers We requested the managers number form the supervisor who stated he does not have it Neither did the tellers We requested to see the camera footage. We were informed that they do not have access to the equipment as the office is locked This morning we phoned the manager on duty who told us that he was informed by the forecourt supervisor ' The manager promised us that he would revert back to us, but alas we are still waiting Now, I ask you why have cameras if nobody has access to them. secondly what happens in an emergency if the staff do not have the managers number Or is it a case that the staff are sworn to secrecy and threatened not to give out the number. The manager himself said that he doe not answer call after hours Is this the standard we need to get used at Shell ? Well as for me the couple of rand I get back from Discovery will not sway me to fill up at an Ultra City again I guess in a country with little to no public transport the filling stations do not have to bother about clients or after sales service

Utterly disappointing.
