Paying more for less

drive a 2010 Renault Clio with a 45 litres capacity tank.

Yesterday 17th November, I went to fill up my car at the Sunward Park filling station. I paid R1029.00 for 45 litres of 95 unleaded. I am very much interested to know as to how is it possible that one cay pay for a full tank and get fuel enough to fill half of the tank. Range on full tank is 783 km but yesterday I got 532 km. The gadget didn't reach the full marker.

Is SHELL also into the conduct of robbing their customers blind? Making customers pay more for less fuel. Like one of their competitors have been previously accused of such a conduct.
