Complaint about Shell Amaachiefs

Greetings

On 28 January 2022 I went to refill fuel at Shell Amaachiefs garage opposite Johannesburg Prison. My car is a Ford Ranger bakkie using diesel. The petrol attendant wrongfully put petrol in my diesel tank. The garage acknowledged their wrongdoing and towed my car to Ford dealership in The Glen where an estimated quote was provided amounting to R6221.50. The concerned Shell garage then paid the said amount.

However, after Ford dealership has worked on the car they discovered that petrol made it through to the injectors and they need to be replaced. They then forwarded a further quotation of R14 239.40 inclusive of the initial quotation. I then forwarded the quotation to Shell garage but now Shell refuse to take the responsibility of petrol that went into the injectors, saying it was my decision to take the car to Ford dealership whereas they could have used their own mechanic to work on the car.

I feel like it is ridiculous for Shell garage to provide me with such a lame excuse when I wouldn't have found myself in this predicament had they not messed up & refilled my car with the wrong fuel when i was clear to the attendant, in addition to the cap that's clearly written "DIESEL".

I am currently without a car, staying with the eight (8) months pregnant fiancé, praying everyday that nothing happens before the car returns.
