Bad Service and Attitude

On Sa****ay morning I stopped by the Shell Garage in Dhlamini on Chris Hani and Luvuvu Streets in Soweto for fuel. I asked the attendant to pour R100 worth of 95 fuel. As he was pouring the fuel, he was chatting to his colleague who was assisting another customer, which I had no problem with.

After a while i turned my head to check how far he is as I was wondering why it was taking so long, I noticed the tank was already above R150. I stopped him and asked him why he is going on when I only asked for R100 worth. He told me with attitude that he thought I said R300. I told him that I specifically asked for R100 for a reason as that was what I had budgetted for. Then he tells me that the fuel is in my tank anyway and it's not a loss so why am I complaining. Like really, who is he to decide how much fuel I should pour.

Just as much as he has certain things to take care of with his money, so do I and I'm the one who knows how I've allocated my butget and why.

I then told him to bring the speedpoint and asked him to call his manager. He returned with the speedpoint and I asked for the manager again. He went off and he was walking around after a few minutes chatting. So I gave him back the speedpoint after paying and I asked him for his name and he informed me that he is Mandla Buthelezi and I drove off as I could see there was no manager coming. The name on the receipt however states that the Operator is Brian. He had no name tag so I could not even verify which name is correct.

I am very disappointed as I am a regular customer of that particular Shell (I can even prove that with receipts). The sad part is that this is not the first time this has happened - it was done to my mom a while back and she also had to use money she had for something else to pay for the extra fuel she didn't ask for.
