an ultra mel custard that had expired over a month

I bought an Ultra Mel custard on Sunday the 29th of March only to discover a couple of days later after my 2 year old daughter had had about half of the content that it had expired on the 26th of February. how can they even still have that in their shop let alone sell it to customers
