Shein online store

We ordered from Shein in mid Feb 2021 and was told delivery would take up to 14 days. In this week my wife got an e-mail from Shein advising her that there is now 'customs duties' due which SHE is liable for.

What utter hog-wash, how do you sell a product and then when it is time for delivery you are advised to sort it out yourself with customs??
