A member of my has been invited to join SHEIN marketing scheme under the name of Shein whereby people are expected to contribute money on the basis of which they are being moved from lower to higher levels of status. At the end they can withdraw money from the scheme but when she tried to withdraw from the scheme, she was told to pay a penalty for cancellation / withdrawal of R30,000. After she deposited the money, she was told that she did not indicate that it was a “refund” and the mall allocated it to the account. She was to pay another R30k and after they told she made a mistake again for which a penalty of R43,000 must be paid before her account can be unfrozen because they have frozen it. All this is happening through a person who is designated as a mentor and the mentor is refusing to escalate the matter for further assistance, arguing that it is no longer her matter alone but the third is affected.
