Questionable business ethics- just try cancelling your account/subscription. I had to confirm & click through 3 different pages on their website to confirm that I want to cancel my subscription to Shaw Academy. To only be informed at the very end that you cannot cancel on their website- but have to dial a number and give them a reference number. I do this and again have to listen to their "marketing and plea not to cancel" and "confirm my decision to cancel" 4 (FOUR) times!!!!! While they use emotive language to try convince you to not cancel by guilt tripping you that they do not want you to give up on your goals- and just to make one more payment.

They also have "one click purchases" of useless "halfway there" certificates and "toolkits", that if you accidently click on them it immediately takes money off your account. There is no confirmation button asking if you want to make this purchase. I found out the hard way when I saw R200 randomly being deducted off my account- when I questioned this they said I purchased a toolkit. I did no such thing, if I did- it could only be an accidental click (I wouldn't know because nothing asked me to confirm anything). I had not downloaded the paid for toolkit- as clearly seen on my account and asked for a refund. But they said they cannot offer refunds.

The whole cancelling process and the "one click purchase" I find completely *********. There are too many other online learning platforms with more transparent and honest ways of billing to have to stick to Shaw Academy.
