Shaw Academy - ********* Business Practices

I registered with this Training provider so that I could learn new skills. Mind you, I am already in a profession - so I did not need a qualification. I joined on 30 September 2020 for R2,000 (one-year subscription) and on 05 December 2020, I had an R5,000 deduction. Apparently, I purchased x 5 diplomas at R999.99 each. Although I advised them that there was no indication that I transacted, did not receive a warning, no display of cost, no request for bank details, no confirmation - nothing that could indicate to me that I was transacting at all. I have read other comments on various platforms and apparently, this is not unusual. People apparently accidentally transact by closing popups, and Shaw refused to refund them even though they are of it - this is their gimmick. When I told them that I am consulting with my bank I was advised that since I am consulting with my bank they are no longer obligated to engage in any further communication with me...These are the kind of learning providers that our country can do without !!
