Shaw Academy - ****

I enrolled for a one month free trial with Shaw Academy. Life happened and I was unable to finish the month course. I was however inundated with emails and calls and was shocked to receive an email stating that payment failed. I promptly responded stating that I was only interested in the trial and do not wish to proceed with a subscription. Whenever being active on the website I declined any offers for further payment and further subscriptions. I also received no email response advising me how to correctly cancel the subscription, however had received countless other emails from them, as well as a response to another query.

As soon as money hit my account, money was deducted by Shaw Academy. I sent an email and checked out the App to see if this could be reversed. In the Member Area, I selected the cancellation process and had to go through quite a few pages of offers to stay, to finally reach a page that gives a number to call. As they are not operational on weekends I waited until this morning.

This morning I received an email to state that I should have cancelled through the Members Section and that as an act of Goodwill they will give me 6 moths subscription.

When I phoned the cancellation number, and entered the Student number, I am told that the student number is invalid.

I sit here with money deducted, a refusal to refund and no one to talk to in order to cancel the subscription.

I would not suggest that anybody make use of the Shaw Academy offer for a free trial as this is simply a way to gain access to your credit card information in order to "legally" deduct payments.
