SHAW ACADEMY IS A ****. DO NOT REGISTER WITH THEM.
I canceled my account on 31/10/2020 as per ticket number (#***). I received an email back from Shaw Academy on 31/10/2020 confirming my membership was successfully canceled and I would not be charged.
On 25/12/2020Shaw Academy deducted R399 from my account, when I queried this I was told that my subscription had not been canceled prior to the expiry of the free trial and I had therefore been upgraded. I forwarded Shaw Academy the email that I received FROM them confirming the successful cancellation, which they ignored. Instead of acknowledging that they had made an error, they insisted it was my fault and continued to offer me more of their "free" products that are actually ****s.
This is completely unacceptable and I have since learned that there are many others dealing with the same situation with Shaw Academy. DO NOT REGISTER WITH SHAW ACADEMY IT IS A ****.
Shaw Academy is legally required to remove all my payment information once I cancel, which they did not do.
As per the email I received my account was successfully canceled and as per the terms and conditions it was canceled before the expiry of the free trial and Shaw Academy is, therefore, not due any remuneration as no services were rendered.
I received phone calls from Shaw Academy enquiring as to why I canceled my subscription. I have also requested a copy of the recordings of these calls but no one from Shaw Academy acknowledges my requests. Instead, I receive generic responses where more free ****s are offered.
I have reported Shaw Academy as a ********** company and disputed the transaction with my bank.
I have also requested a full refund and that Shaw Academy remove all my information (including my payment information) and deleted the account. However, this is also impossible!! The website advertises that you may cancel and delete and at any time prior to the expiry of the 28-day trial - as you can see by my review and the many below, THIS IS NOT TRUE AND IS SIMPLY FALSE ADVERTISING.

You can not cancel your subscription at any time, the numbers provided do not work, and all you receive are automated emails and more offers for apparently free products. This provides them with the opportunity to re-activate your account without your knowledge and continue to **********ly credit your account.
I'm not sure what kind of human beings can work for such a company and ***** money from thousands of people during a global pandemic when so many are already suffering.

It takes +-50 emails to get one automated response and then they go MIA again! It takes multiple requests to get them to cancel your account and remove your information (if they ever do this). This is a violation of consumer rights. Once the membership is canceled they are legally required to remove your details.
I encourage users to not sign up with them at all and if you have, login to your account and make sure they have in fact canceled your account when they said you that automated email that says it has been successfully canceled.
I would also encourage any users who have given their payment details to report Shaw Academy to their bank.
