Shaw Academy is a ****!

I signed up on a Sunday evening. Received a call from a lady named Shantelle Higgins two days later stating that she is my student guide to the online academy. She then stated that they have discount codes and course materials for me at a lower price, I said I would get back to her next thing exactly a thousand rands has been taken out of my bank account without my authorization while on the phone with her. I stated money has been taken out of my account and she should refund it; she then stated that she would find out for me what happened and email her details of the notifications I got and she would get back to me. I took it a few steps further and sent her a receipt from PayFast and both email and banking app notification that money was taken without my consent.

I have emailed various amounts of people in their system, not even a number to call. I called the company PayFast they transacted with, said I should email Shaw Academy and should they not get back to me in said amount of time I should call back and they would ask on my behalf for my refund.

I then called my bank, they have launched an investigation against them which will take exactly two weeks to complete and should it be labeled as ***** I will be fully refunded.

Ultimately Shaw Academy is a ****! **********. I will be contacting my lawyers to launch a further investigation outside of the bank and should I not be refunded, Shaw Academy and Shantelle and whoever has been emailing me, will pay for damages.

It is a nasty **** that takes advantage of those seeking further self-improvement and education in these times of the pandemic. I suggest if you have fallen into their trap, contact your bank.
