Shaw Academy dishonest acts

Description of my experience with them:

I subscribed for a 4 weeks free trial English course on 2 Sep 2020. The same day I unsubscribed, receiving a mail regarding my drop-out. On 3 Sep 2020 I was charged 69.99 USD without using no one lesson or material.

I asked about refund and stopping my membership, which evidently remained active despite my unsubscription. Refunding was refused and a 6-months free course offered instead, with videos that I could use without entering the classroom. I agreed and even rated them positive, thinking I made something wrong in my account. But when trying to find out where the proposed videos are, I by mistake, clicked on a window for toolkit and was immediately charged 39.99 USD.

Once in their site, you risk to click on one of the multiple advertising windows (very probable if your screen is small and the computer slow) and to purchase unwanted services immediately, by 1 or 2 clicks of the mouse.

So, 1-2 clicks are enough to buy, but around 20 steps are needed to deactivate your account. You even cannot do this yourself. They have a relevant team for this task and the full removing of the personal data will take a couple of weeks. Thus, it is suspicious whether all personal data will be removed.

I asked them to cite where in their rules it is written that the sum for the 4 weeks free trial has to be paid in the beginning, as in my case, but I did not received an answer. And why the so-called toolkit during this period is remunerated. Acc. to an explication the toolkit is a record from the classes, but I attended no one lesson.

Since 3 Sep 2020 I received around 40 mails from them, always with new proposals, offering you "for free" services you have never meant to participate in. And they are never able to refund you, swear how sorry they are, and at the same tine they continue to charge you.

They bombed me with telephone calls many days though I was not responding. I am afraid that in case of answering other unexpected payments will arise.

It is difficult to find telephones or mail addresses for connection on their website, neither they are written under the names of the persons sending you mails.

I received the same answers, evidently automatically generated text, to two different topics.
