**** and *****. Shaw Academy advertised a Computer Science course with UNLIMITED access to the course. I signed up, entered banking details as it was required at sign up, understood the reason why they'd require you to enter banking details for the trial as they would have to charge you when the trial ends... saw that you actually had to pay R499 for their certificate and study materials. Decided that wasn't what I was looking for, felt like it was false advertising, wanted to cancel. Phoned them to de-register my account with them (after going through several pages online to cancel) but was repeatedly told that I shouldn't cancel and should take advantage of the free trial I should give it a chance. I was then told I'd receive a certificate and study material free of charge and an extended trial period until 1 January 2021. I decided to continue. After my first class (40 minutes) I was surprised the next day when I woke up and found a notification from my bank that R499 was deducted from my account for Shaw Academy. I've sent numerous emails - all being rep**** back saying I can't get a refund but I can get 3 extra modules, I can get an extended period of time on my account etc... I haven't even logged in since I received the notification about the money being deducted from my account. I then get told my banking details have been sent to the relevant team for investigation and I should wait 1-2 working days for an update.
