Refusal to refund
Billed me an amount of R399 which I don't even understand because their most expensive option is R333pm for a 3 month subscription. I kindly requested a refund as I was never using the site (which they would be able to see) and they debited my account.
to which their response was a generic we won't pay you back that I've seen in several forums on the internet where people are being charged after cancelling etc. or not being given what was advertised.
i prefer not to support companies that take advantage of customers, especially in times of economic hardships such as the global pandemic.

the fact that you are willing to take money knowing what the world looks like currently, especially economically and you can see that I signed up and had never logged in again. I know that legally I can't claim my money back, but what I would see as an ethical company that is focused on education is a refund for this month, making it attractive for me to use this site in the future. at this point I see Shaw Academy as a company that is more focused on taking peoples money.
also you never explained the amount to me, why was R399 taken off my account when the most expensive plan is R333
