Nearly impossible to cancel subscription & automatic monetary deductions

I am shocked that this company is still in business after reading so many reviews of the same thing happening to other people. I signed up for a supposed free 4 week course, and then decided to cancel my subscription after a few days (never once having used the service). It is a complete mission to try and cancel, which requires you to call them. The people on the phone are persistent and cult-like, clearly not wanting people to easily cancel their subscription. After the phone call, I thought I had made it clear that I wanted to cancel, the woman insisted on giving me a 60 day free trial. After 60 days (and under the impression that I had cancelled, still never once actually using their service) I receive a notification for a deduction of R399 from Shaw Academy. As a university student this money is valuable. I had to phone another employee to find out that my subscription was still active and after declining multiple persistent offers and insisting on cancellation, I finally got confirmation. I emailed back and forth with the man in charge of refunds and apparently do not qualify for one because of the hidden renewal of subscription that I was not concerned about - because I thought I had cancelled! DO NOT sign up with Shaw Academy if you think you would ever want to change your mind, cancellation is a mission and nearly impossible. It seems to be a simple ****, with focus more on getting money than actually providing customer satisfaction.
