Making sales to children and no support when asking money back
During lock-down I thought I'll let 14 year old try some courses. You must add credit card to profile on registration, even with 1st month free. It was immediately clear that you have to pay extra for everything. Only 1 module of a course is free. You need to pay to progress to next module, for course material and for your certificate. I told the 14 year old to make sure he does not press any of the red buttons, and made a note to remove my credit card details before the 1st payment would go off, if it turns out that the course was not adding any value. One evening I sudden received notification that R988 has taken from my credit card. Turns out they phoned the 14 year old (his profile note he is <18) and offered him another free course, to which he said yes, not understanding (as he is only 14 years old) that it depends on purchasing a 3 month subscription. There is no call center number you can talk to a person. I've send mails to support and billing email addresses, and only received reference numbers. To cancel the membership (which is described as quick online cancellation) took more than 4 minutes of listening to a machine trying to confine me not to give upon my goals. I had to confirm cancellation x4. And still I don't have my money back. I'm also pretty sure it is ******* to make these kind of call to a person you know are under age.
