DO NOT SIGN UP FOR SHAW ACADEMY!

I signed up with Shaw Academy off of their 4-weeks free promotion for a beauty course. After being unable to attend classes I decided to call and cancel. The staff member on the call gave me an alternative and said that I could put my membership on an indefinite pause and return to my account and courses at a later stage without any additional payment. However, after a month I got charged R399. The process of trying to get a refund and to cancel my membership has been (and continues to be) absolutely exhausting and infuriating. Shaw Academy will also try to take your money at every corner. They advertise their courses at a reasonable price, however, there is a multitude of hidden costs (you have to pay for toolkits, certificates etc.). There are a host of better online learning platforms out there that are actually worth your time and money. I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR SHAW ACADEMY! The only "free" lesson they'll give you is one in how to deal with ****s.
