Disappointed, this is how ShawAcademy actually works

I regret the day and the amount of money that I've spent with Shaw Academy. This is how they work:

- The ShawAcademy website is driven towards sales, not assisting students - You are never in contact with a lecturer, instead you watch a schedule of pre-recorded video's and get the option to send messages to a web chat bot that does not reply. - They don't get back to you when you send emails - You cannot get your 'diploma' by paying R399.99 per month only, you have to pay the monthly fee PLUS R499.99 for the final assignment of each module PLUS R999.99 for a hard copy diploma - Their website will never ask you to confirm if you want to make a payment. You will receive a pop-up that reads "Get your diploma now" with a button at the bottom that reads "Download your diploma here". When you click on the button, they debit your account with R999.99 without asking you to confirm the purchase. - They have a no refund policy, doesn't matter what you do you cannot get your money back. - You can NEVER speak to a consultant over the phone, you will notice that there is no contact details on their website. - When submitting a query through the "Contact Us" page on their website, you will receive a ticket number from Zendesk. You cannot access the ticketing system as the credentials that you use for your account, does not work on this page. If you try to set a new password, you get taken to a screen with a button that reads, "Set Password", but clicking the button does nothing. - If you do not pay the additional R499.99 per module assessment, you will have nothing to show that you did a course. - Their modules are shared between courses, so if you pay the R499.99 for the certificate it will have the WRONG course name on it. For example, I did a course in project management, but received a certificate for business management. - If you pause your account with the intention of cancelling later, you can't. You will have to pay another month's subscription of R399.99 in order to see the cancel button on your profile. - In order to cancel, you need to read the screens VERY carefully as the cancellation button is located in small print at the bottom of the screen. You go through 5 screens in order to cancel your account where eventually they show you a number that you need to call. - When calling the number, you will have to select an option that says "Yes, I want to give up on my dreams" in order cancel your subscription.

ShawAcademy, I want to make it clear that I don't want to give up on my dreams, I'm giving up on you. I could have done a course through an accredited university with the amount of money that you have deducted from my account. I am highly disappointed and you really need to make your business model clear to your students. Your website is misleading and you make it impossible to get in contact with anyone at Shaw.

I have flagged the transactions with my bank and explained to them that there is no confirmation of purchase on the ShawAcademy website. I really hope that I will be able to get at least some of my money back.
