The Wolf on wall street

I'm writing this review because my previous two were removed, and I feel it's important to share my experience with others. I've been losing sleep and waking up every morning with a deep sense of regret and discomfort, feeling that I was misled and pressured into signing up with Sharetrackin.

My ordeal began with a random phone call while I was driving. I usually ignore SPAM calls, but this time I answered because I was using my hands-free kit. The caller, a young lady speaking fluent Afrikaans (my home language), managed to schedule an appointment for me with Dwayne, a Sharetrackin sales representative.

During our meeting, I was very clear about my investment preferences: I wanted long-term investments with dividends and had no interest in short-term trading or involvement in the stock market, particularly with risky instruments like CFDs. Despite this, Dwayne assured me that their product would align with my needs. This turned out to be far from the truth.

One of the key factors that convinced me to sign up was the so-called "40% Money Back Guarantee." However, as I later discovered, this was merely a sales tactic designed to attract customers like myself. Gerrie, a Sharetrackin attorney, later confirmed that this guarantee has never been paid out to any client—it’s purely a marketing strategy with no real backing.

Dwayne also presented me with a large file showing photos of clients holding up big cheques worth thousands of Rands. I now understand these cheques are not genuine, being based on simulations or fictitious funds. This, too, was a misleading representation.

The signup process was rushed and done on a tablet. I was asked to initial in two or three places without being given the chance to read the terms and conditions thoroughly, which would have taken at least 20 minutes. No documents were provided at the time of signup, nor were they emailed to me afterward.

A few days later, I had a training session with Theunis, where I realized that Sharetrackin is nothing more than an overpriced simulation training course in my opinion, not an investment platform. During our training, we didn't review any rules; instead, Theunis focused on showing me how to use charts and make transactions on the simulation account. This leads me to believe that Theunis himself might not have been fully aware of the rules, which are critical since the simulation account is the basis for the guarantee.

It wasn't until eight months later that I finally read the rules and realized that this platform operates as a training simulation course, not an investment platform. The rules require me to take exams and engage in daily trading—exactly what I had explicitly stated I didn't want.

I've been battling with Sharetrackin to cancel the program for over 6 months now, but they take 2-3 weeks to respond to emails and seem utterly uninterested in the client's needs. Each time I try to discuss cancellation, they attempt to sell me the product again, rather than addressing my concerns or taking steps to cancel a service I never wanted in the first place.

I hope that by sharing my story, I can warn potential customers about the misleading practices I encountered with Sharetrackin.

Good day Mr Olwagen.

We have noted your claims, and again would like to clarify the following:
1. Gerrie would not have confirmed that our guarantee has never been paid out as we approved a claim last year due to the markets being down and our client following our rules and guidelines to the T.
2. During our past simulation competitions our clients have won amazing monetary prizes. One of our one million rand winner is still an active client on our system and is still reaping the benefits.
3. A copy of your agreement was emailed to you directly after signature (Please check your spam file)
4. You were allowed a 7 day cooling off period as per your agreement.
5. You had access to our rules and conditions at all times and have accepted them on your initial sign in to our program.

One of your interactions with us was a request that we change our rules and conditions for you so that you can qualify for our money back guarantee. Unfortunately, no business works like this.

We would like to clarify that learning is critical to any new skill development and it is unadvisable to jump into investing without the knowledge and experience that you can gain using ShareTrackin.

Non the less we will be cancelling your service agreement with immediate effect.

Kind regards.
