Need help

Helo peter. I just want to know if debt collectors never caontacted me. Can they put a default on my credit report. I made a payment last in 2014 on the foachini account. Shapiro received the account, according to them in 2021. They never contacted me, i contacted them.But according to them they did. My credit report from 2019 showed a payment, which i never made and also in 2021. It is very strange that they list the account numerous times as a new account with a installment of 6900 which shows as the balance. They never went to court. And i am of the opinion that after 3years debt expires. Can you please assist me to get this debt collector off my credit report
