Disrespectful and rude!
My mother-in-law, like many others, lost her job during the pandemic. As such she had to cancel her medical aid. Discovery is now wanting to recover monies used from her savings portion. Any reasonable person would know if one is unemployed there is no income, there is no way to make a commitment to pay. Lo and behold SSDA acquires debt and begins harassing her. For her to be told today by a consultant that she should have paid her debt before feeding herself. Shame on you. Send your employees for sensitivity training and learn to understand that if a person is unable to pay, they are unable to pay. Check with SASSA, she is NOT registered. We are supporting her and are in no position to take on her debt as well. One more phone call with veiled threats and inhumane treatment and I will contact the law society to report this ************ treatment. She has told you she will make payment when she finds employment.
