Clearing my credit record

Hi, I hope this finds you well. I has a gym contract, I lost my job so I asked them to terminate my contract but they didn't do it instead the money I owed them kept on accumulating,they then handed it over to SSDA. Fortunately I got another job and settled the Account on the 29th of May. They then said they will clear my credit record after 48 days but they didn't when I call they say it it might take a year for them to clear my name. Please assist me.
