Hidden Admin FEE

I joined a gym before it actually opened. Trusting it with R700. I then later had to relocate and cancelled in the beginning of November. Giving them time to cancel. (GYM NOT OPENED AS YET).

Admin woman was soooo rude. Giving me another R300 to cancel. And later pay "60% of full 2 years fee."

This was what they sent me via email in October.

"

Hallo Gina,

There are several options that you have.

1. You can transfer your membership to someone else.

2. You can transfer to another branch once we have them open.

3. You can freez your membership if you are ill or if you are going on holiday overseas or whatever. Then it will resume on your return.

4. If you want to cancel outright you can give us three months’ notice, then all you need to pay is an admin fee. I am not sure what that is but it is a minimum amount. Nothing like other gyms that charge you something like 60% of your outstanding fee.

Hope that gives you some peace of mind. We do not want to bleed people dry, but I think that once you start with the treatments and the massages you will love it so much that you will want to continue once the term is up."

My advice. Never ever sign up or think of signing or helping an up coming business. There a reason why they don't exist. It makes me think, this is a **** running.
