Appauling service from so called professional mechanic

<p>My car was collected by Shane's Auto Clinic on 13 August 2016 to quote on repairs. A final quote was received on 30 August of R29k requesting a 50% deposit. On 12 September 2016 I had the money to pay the deposit, but was informed by Shane Maitland that he made a mistake on the labour charges and the quote is now R39k!</p> <p>I was quoted on reconditioning of the head on 30 August 2016 and on 1 September 2016 I received an invoice for R3850. This was done without an approval. Unfortunately I was forced to pay for this as he would not release my car without full payment.</p> <p>I decided to purchase a second hand engine as I could not afford the R39k and had to get another mechanic to assist as Shane Maitland refused to give me a warranty on workmanship and also quoted R7600 to fit the complete engine.</p> <p>Got my car back and the following was wrong:</p> <p>1. Windscreen cracked very badly</p> <p>2. Oil filter that was invoiced for was not there and I had to buy another one</p> <p>3. He spilled oil or grease of some sort on my passanger carpet</p> <p>4. Windscreen water pipe is broken</p> <p>5. Reservoir supp**** is not 100% as the cap does not fit</p> <p>6. Original reservoir cap was purchased from VW in 2014 seem to be swopped with WAG cap</p> <p> </p> <p>I urge all not to make use of his poor service as he does not comply with the consumer act!</p>
