Shalom Service & Repairs Benoni: Bad workmanship and customer service

Not a pleasant experience with them, very bad workmanship, no regard for customers property and definitely no people skills or customer care.

They took over a week to "fix" an oil leak on my wifes car. The excuse was that the first oil seal was leaking and they had to get another one and do the job twice.

When we collected the car, the RCA cables were broken off inside the amplifier (they did offer to pay for it, but the carelessness is what annoyed me) the speaker box carpet was full of grubby hand marks, the fuse and holder for the car sound was just hanging loose in the engine bay.

Then we noticed that an EPC light came up on the dashboard when driving at 100km/h. They said that we could bring it in to plug in the diagnostics. We were then informed that it was a left wheel speed sensor and that they would charge us to replace it. I contacted them to see if they had perhaps damaged the sensor as other damage was noticed and clearly the mechanic working on the vehicle was careless.

Gerrard, the owner then just hang up the phone while I was trying to chat with him. Next thing I get a Whatsapp saying that I shouldn't bring my vehicles to him and that my attitude stinks, and he blocked me on what's app. I tried messaging him from another phone in order to try understand why he had blocked me, but he just blocked me again, and he was clearly not willing to try and resolve the issue.

I then decided that I would fix the wheel sensor issue on my own, which I did. While fixing the sensor I found more terrible workmanship and damage done by Shalom Service & Repairs.

As I took the front left wheel off, the disk retaining ***** was completely loose and just fell out into the wheel. The side jacking rail was badly buckled and bent with fresh marks of damaged paint, and dents underneath the vehicle. Then the sump had copious amounts of silicone all over the place, far more than what is necessary, and in fact could cause a major problem if a lump of it happens to come loose inside the engine and block an oil passage or pump.

I have taken photos of all the damage and very poor workmanship and highly recommend that you DO NOT take your vehicle to this place.
