S&H Helpful but devious
Although the company tries to be helpful, they still came up short. My wife and I needed to order a new liquidiser attachment and K-beater attachment for our Kenwood chef. We searched the internet and came across S&H electronics as one of the leading suppliers of Kenwood parts. I went onto their website and did a specific search for the parts for our specific machine using the machine's model number. Just to clarify, I was searching for two different attachments. Using the model number for the search I found both items for our machine, so my wife told me to order them. First, due to COVID the delivery did take some time, but that is not S&H's fault. We checked the two items and the K-beater was correct, but the liquidiser did not fit our machine. I immediately contacted S&H to see if they could change the base of the liquidiser with the correct fitting to fit our machine. This went on backwards and forwards for about a month until they eventually said that a new liquidiser was necessary, but they did arrange for me to go to ServiveTec in Johannesburg (my wife and I are based in Krugersdorp) with the item to see if they could help. They also said I needed to buy the correct part, which they supp**** me. I then contacted S&H via email with the entire story and that I would like the item to be returned with a full refund. I received a response saying that I had to return it to them at my cost (they are in Cape Town), they would evaluate it and IF they decide to refund it, it would be minus a handling fee of 15%. MY wife and I then decided to rather hold onto the part as after the shipping fee and the handling fee we would only get back around R50. This is after we purchased it from their website using the model number to source the part, and this is the part that their website said was the correct item for our machine. As helpful as they were to assist, we warn others to be careful when using S&H's search facility to get the correct parts, as they may get the incorrect part, which will land up costing you more to get sorted than the part itself.
