We are posting this review after exhausting every reasonable avenue to resolve this matter directly and through the RMI. Unfortunately, to date there has been no meaningful action, accountability, or resolution. When writing this review, it is now 95 days since we informed SG Autoworx/Sumesh direct of the issues. We entrusted SG Autoworx with a mint condition, collectible Mercedes-Benz SL65 V12 AMG, expecting professional care and expertise. The initial reason to take the vehicle to SG Autoworx and Sumesh was a minor oil leak in 2022, engine was removed and resealed. What followed is extremely concerning. Key issues: • R80,000 spent, yet core issues (notably oil leaks) remain unresolved • Vehicle repeatedly returned for repairs with no lasting fixes and continued additional costs • Vehicle kept for extended periods (up to 3 months) with ongoing delays (not due to part availability) • Independent inspection in March this year and post vehicle collection from SG Autoworx revealed: o Missing undercarriage components and other parts. Mercedes quote to replace R50,000 o Missing door trims, more concerning is that this section of the vehicle had no relation to the repair areas. Value of approx.. R10,000 o Structural damage (including bent suspension parts, due to incorrect lifting) o Misaligned fittings o Ongoing oil leak • Vehicle condition worse after repairs than before • Additional damage while in their care: o Ignition coil damaged and batteries deteriorated due to prolonged storage • Additional charges and parts to repair oil leak each time it was returned. Most concerning: This is in context of the owner Sumesh taking full responsibility for the missing parts and damages. To add, each time prior to the vehicle returning and the last time, Sumesh confirmed he personally inspected the vehicle post work completed. Confirmed initially they have the parts, and will send in 48 hours, then we have 90%, then recently this changed to “we are still trying to source the parts – but, • No list provided, No photos provided as agreed • No parts returned to date! • Repeated promises (including 48-hour commitments) never honoured • No solution to bent suspension arms. • No response or solution for ongoing oil leak, since 2022 • Continued delays and lack of communication • All communication stopped by Sumesh. Final position We ask: How can a professional workshop treat a customer — and a collectible, high-value vehicle — in this manner? We acted in good faith over several years and gave multiple opportunities to resolve this matter. Unfortunately, we have reached a point where there is zero confidence in this business. The matter has now been escalated formally. Conclusion Based on our experience, we cannot recommend SG Autoworx. This has been a costly, frustrating, emotional and unacceptable experience with no accountability to date. Posted on behalf of the vehicle owner.
