Terrible Service: ALL our belongings are severely damaged

We used Seven Seas Worldwide to transport some of our belongings to Amsterdam from Johannesburg. We only transported sentimental items and wedding gifts to avoid further costs. The air freight came to over R21000. Seven Seas gave us very strict instructions regarding packaging and customs forms - it took us ages but we stuck to this.

On arrival to Amsterdam, all of our boxes were damaged and had randomly been repacked by DHL (Seven Seas' delivery partner). On opening the boxes, I discovered only shards of glass and porcelain. Absolutely nothing survived bar some plastic items. It looked as though the boxes had been thrown from a height - everything was in tiny pieces.

We are insured so I am trying to go through that process with Seven Seas but it is very vague. More importantly, I requested a refund for the transportation, given that the services we paid 20K for were not received (safe delivery of our belongings), and they have completely refused to assist in this regard. I feel like we paid for nothing (given nothing arrived in one piece) and no one will help us get our money back.

Seven Seas Worldwide, I am so alarmed at the terrible customer service and the fact that you have refused to take responsibility for this. All of these items have sentimental value and I really cannot replace that aspect of them. I would expect much more from such a globally renowned business.

And to future clients - avoid Seven Seas at all costs. You land up paying for a gamble rather than a service.

Dear Sherianne, we deeply regret your experience but the pictures of the boxes you sent us show no external damage at all. The lack of any any external distress suggested the damage to the contents came from the way they were packed. This is very sad, we are sorry.
