misinformed about cost

I wanted to move a couple of boxes to Germany from South Africa and got a quote from Seven Seas online. As it was a lot cheaper than the other shipment companies, I worried there was a catch or hidden additional costs, so I logged a Query. I was contacted by someone from Seven Seas on the 2nd of November (a UK number.) and spoke to someone called Kathryn. I asked about the cost and raised my concern about the hidden cost, and specifically ask if there would be custom charges in Germany. The things I want to ship is not very valuable, so I had to weight you the cost. Kathryn assured me there are no extra cost, asp because I don't live to far from their offices in Kempton park, so I paid the R900 deposit. It was only then that I saw a 300 something Euro charge, and mention on Vat when I saw the custom forms. I called the call center, but was barely able to hear what the person on the line was saying. I think there is something with their line. I complained and insisted on getting a refund of my deposit, as I was misinformed and this is exactly what I didn't want. And now I have to wait 10 working days before they will refund me my deposit.

Dear Martjie, all our charges are listed on our detailed quote which can be viewed online. There are no hidden charges but there are charges at the destination. We do not employ anyone named Kathryn but we refunded you are you legally entitled.
