Just don't do it
I am so disappointed to announce that after reading some great reviews of this company on a FB group, I too decided to use their services to ship a few boxes for our move from SA (Pta) to Europe. The initial interaction with this company was great and I felt positive. Packed up my last few things and the collection was done timely on 09/03/2021. So I set off for Europe with no idea of the trouble that lay ahead. I paid the balance in full and the invoice was received. On 2 April (after filling in 2 online forms requesting to be contacted) I emailed the customer services team as the online platform to be used by the customer to keep track of the progress wasn't being updated and still showed I had documents outstanding (and still does as I write this today). I also tried to update my cell number but the system wouldn't update it correctly and requested help, as well as info re the shipment. I received a reply on 03/04/2021 by Katie advising my goods are being loaded on to a vessel and once the vessel is ready I will receive an email notification - ETA 1st week of July. By the 20th I queried Katie again wanting to confirm the ETA as the transit time on the accepted quote was 98-120 days (door to door). And that's when everything started falling apart. Muzi rep**** to that mail on 22/04 stating that the CPT port had been closed due to the fires. I rep**** asking the account be updated as I see a ship linked to my profile called Santa Barbara and as per this tracker this ship has actually already left the harbor in CT. Reply received on 28/04 by Celeste advising my goods are at the JHB hub awaiting loading onto Santa Barbara?! (Which is not even in SA anymore, and just before my goods were stuck in CPT). She also advised they have no further info re departure date as yet. I rep**** explaining my frustration at the level of service being received as all info received is constantly conflicting. And a new ship was shown on my tracker. I copied ALL previous emails to her and asked for clarity as to where my goods actually are and what is going on. 29/04 Michelle emails informing me my shipment is due to ship out on 01/05 and ETA 03/06, tracker was updated accordingly. I rep**** asking to confirm the name of the ship my goods are on as it seems very unclear. I also requested a call from them as I am having trouble calling internationally (30/04). To date no phone calls have been received. But, sadly it gets worse. No replies further either. 03/05 I receive an automated email saying my shipment is on it's way and is now on the Maersk Luz ETA 03/06. I reply to that asking a call from management as I would like to have clarity re my goods explaining I am frustrated and need to speak to someone as the emails aren't working. 04/05 I received an email from Jane (CS Manager) apologizing for my distress, explaining she's out of office so can't call me but she understands I am unhappy due to change in transit details, sending me the link to the explanatory page of how shipment works and that it's covered for a 4 month transit time. I rep**** 04/05 that I would like to speak to one allocated person as everytime I do send a query someone else replies with different info. I explain that I am unhappy as I wasn't even informed of the change in transit details and there's no clear info coming from the company to the client to advise the status. I have to keep emailing and keep getting different responses from different employees. My goods were loaded, enroute, then at CPT stuck at port, and then at JHB hub?! I said I expected more from an international company and that there's no feedback unless queried, profile not being updated forcing the email queries to be sent, and conflicting info received per email is worrisome. Also requested my cell nr be updated correctly. Jane rep**** again 05/04 saying she will be investigating this matter, that shipment details had to change suddenly and that's why it seemed like no feedback was received. The tracker for Maersk Luz has been updated on my profile and she hopes I can rest assured with my goods progressing towards me. I thanked her, provided correct contact details for the system and promised to keep an eye on the tracker. 18/05 I notice I still had the wrong number linked as main number, and the ship is not heading for the final destination (NL) but is enroute to Spain. I emailed Jane querying this again, asking her to confirm this port in Spain is indeed correct. Low and behold! 20/05 Jane replies advising the number order doesn't matter, which is then ok with me. BUT!! She's lodged a query with the SA shipping dept and was advised my container was transferred to Maira XL and they await further clarification from the shipping agent. New ETA 15/06. If I don't keep asking I would not even have known that my goods are in fact; still in port in Dbn!! After being enroute to me on 2 different ships, it's never even left Dbn yet? I rep**** saying this is now the 3rd ship, again no info was given through to me for clarity and only upon having to keep sending emails. Also saying, I expect she's now back in the office and requested her to call me to tell me what is actually happening with my goods, as the emails with this company are super tedious. No info is ever received to advise of any issues or delays, let alone why. I understand there will be delays and changes. What is unacceptable to me is that there is no transparency as to where your goods are at any given time, no clear info, no feedback. No customer service. International Company?.. Hmm. Definitely not international standards. I still await feedback from Jane or a call as I write this so will update accordingly.
