*********** company. About to take legal action

i arranged to ship 7 boxes of personal belongings from Malaysia to Ireland. They were collected from me in Malaysia on 10th June 2016.

to date it has been nothing but stress and hassle. I included every single document that was asked for yet my shipment was not sent because they kept asking for information. In fact on each email I rep**** to every single bullet point with answers of what I had attached. They even rep**** to me on about my 3rd email having copied and pasted their requirements again with my answers already inserted.

eventually after 3 weeks they finally sent off my shipment.

this arrived in the UK 3 weeks ago, at which time seven seas billed me for delivery to my address in Ireland. I paid, thinking this meant the customs process was finalised and I was about to receive delivery.

it has now been another 3 weeks. All seven seas can tell me in their terrible English is that the boxes are still with customs and its out of their hands.

i then discover to my upmost surprise that as from 1 May , UK customs will not process any items bound for any other EU country, they will only process on a UK address.

So Seven seas.....my boxes are sitting in the UK, it has been 3 months, they are apparently stuck there, I have paid you already to deliver to my door, not to mention the small fortune I have paid for the entire shipment, and all you can say is it is out of your hands? Surely you are aware of the new customs regulations? Why is this not going thru Irish Customs instead?

i have also emailed your CEO, and believe me when I say if I don't hear back thru him or this channel I will take this complaint thru every single avenue possible including social media.

we are not wealthy, these are our few chosen personal possessions we chose to bring with us to our new country....a little care and appreciation to make good on your promises to your customers would go a long way. We have paid you upfront for a service and you should be delivering on this as promised.

my job reference 000/187/153

Dear Kelly-Ann,
Thank you for your email, our colleagues in the UK shipping department co-ordinate shipments across the whole of the EU so they are still very much involved in clearing your shipment into Ireland.
The Irish Customs themselves have been overwhelmed by the scale of work the import rule change has generated. This has resulted with multiple requests for further information: some of it contradictory and some of it, frankly, extremely difficult for you, the importer, to provide. All shipments prior to the change had been cleared in the UK and delivered to Ireland.
This process has been very challenging for us, we have incurred significant additional charges on all our shipments into Ireland, such as storage while we negotiate the clearance. We have elected to absorb since this was not an issue that you created, not that this is any interest to you but I think it important to highlight that this has been painful for all concerned.
Your shipment is in Ireland but we still await clearance from the Irish Customs, there is nothing we can do to assist beyond urging you to provide whatever additional information is requested from our Shipping Department as they work on clearing your shipment.
We can only apologise for the inconvenience, but this has been quite beyond our control. Our colleagues in the Shipping Department are much better placed to keep you informed when your shipment is released for delivery.
Regards, Seven Seas Worldwide
