DO NOT RECOMMEND SEVEN SEAS SUSHI
DO NOT RECOMMEND. We experienced the worst customer service at seven seas sushi oceans mall. The staff were extremely rude and disrespectful and had attitude I have never experienced as a customer before. I am disappointed by the treatment I received.
1. We were told our Sushi (a simple order of 2 different types of sushi) would take about 20 minutes. We waited outside for a while, after about 30 minutes we went inside to check how far the order was and the staff paid no attention to us, did not communicate AT ALL about when our order would be ready, and continued to give other people their orders while showing no awareness or concern over us standing there looking confused. At some point a staff member told me a packet was mine when it wasn't and also told me I didn't need a receipt of my order which I asked for. They seemed very nonchalant and idgaf the whole time.
2. After 50 minutes I started complaining and asked where my food was and why it was taking so long and why nothing has been communicated to me (I feel these are all valid questions as a paying customer). To my utter shock, the response I received from the chef was full of attitude and aggression. She mouthed back that can't I see she is busy and alone and will see to my order next. At this point I became very angry. If the response was rather am apology and kind explanation I would have been understanding. But the disrespect I experienced instead spoiled my entire night and angered my whole hungry family.
3. We then demanded our money back. They continued to give us attitude and shrugged us off, telling us refunds are not possible. We explained that we do not want the food anymore, just our money back as our time has been wasted. They proceeded to talk amongst themselves and showed no remorse or sincerity. They did not try and make the situation better. They just said we must wait for the food.
4. We asked for the owner/bosses number to discuss the refund. They refused this information as well, explaining that their boss lives in a different country and it would put their jobs on the line. So they'd rather not alert their boss that there's an issue. They also asked me what I ordered which shocked me even more showing that they did not remember.
5. I then explained that this kind of treatment and attitude is what gets bad reviews. I don't even care about the late food anymore, I wouldn't write a review on that. What escalated this was the staffs attitude and utter disregard towards customers. The staff member behind the till told me to go ahead and write a bad review and leave, instead of demanding a refund. I told her I'm disappointed that she doesn't even care about getting a bad review.
6. After this argument, the sushi was finally done (it has now been over an hour) and the chef gives it to us and says a snarky sorry. The other staff lady then asks if she can give anything extra or for free to make it better. I explained that if they just said this as their first response none of the arguing had to happen. But now, I do not trust that the sushi is safe to eat given how I was treated and I do not want it anymore. My appetite even went away.
7. We gave the unopened sushi to the people behind us and left.
This was very very very poor customer service. No one at this restaurant set a good example or handled the situation properly. I felt like I was told off by a chef for asking a common question. They take too long to make basic food, they looked lazy and tired, they have no sense of customer etiquette and they are all very rude. I have a feeling the food would not have been good anyways, since no care and kindness could go into it if it's being made by such a rude person.
