Dishonest Dealership

On the 16th of January 2022, we bought a 2020 Ford EcoSport 1.5 at Seth Auto Motors in Bramley. As it is a second-hand vehicle, I asked the Dealer (Mr. Gift) if the car was in an accident. He said no and assured me that the car was a bank repossessed. He also offered a 12-month guarantee on the car. We then paid him the full amount he asked for the car and collected it the following day (17/01/2022). For the record – we are 2 retrenched pensioners. On the week-end of the 13th of February 2022 we went away for the week-end. On our way back home the car cut out completely. I phone Ford Road Assist and they took the car to Lazarus Ford in Centurion. After a few days Lazarus Ford phoned and informed us that the car was in an accident and that they, as result, could not replace the Radiator and Radiator Fan Assembly that was damaged in the accident. They further explained that the 4 year warranty on the car is now no longer valid due to the accident it was in. We had to pay Lazarus Ford in full for the replacement costs. We phoned the Dealer and explained to him what the latest developments were and he offered to meet us halfway and pay 50% of the replacement costs, which he did. When we went to collect the car at Lazarus Ford, we noticed that the electric fan of the radiator was running continuously. The workshop foreman advice that they could not fixed it, and blamed the accident that the car was in. We then again contacted the Dealer and explained to him the new dilemma we are facing. The dealer then said that we must bring the car to them to have a look at it, which we did. When we received the car back from Seth Auto, we noticed that the air-con wasn’t now working. It was then established that they used the air-con sensor-switch to work the electric radiator fan. This we now had to have, successfully, repaired by a private auto electrician in Sinoville. The air-con switch now needs to be replaced (awaiting parts). Once again, a new problem now occured resulting that the car does not start unless pushed to start. The car is currently at another auto electrician to be repaired. (costs still unknown) All these problems were discussed each and every time with Mr. Gift at Seth Auto Motors. All he made was promises he never kept, and thus far we are still paying for all the repairs on the vehicle out of our pockets. Is there any way you can assist us to have the dealership take responsibility to have the car repaired to its fullest operational status.
