Service Link SA WiFi Installation
Stay away from ServiceLink SA. We had them install a WiFi network at our rental property — 4x TP-Link Omada EAP225 access points on structured Cat6 cabling via a PoE switch — and the experience was bad enough that we want to warn others before they commit.
Overcharged: R29,848 for the job. We benchmarked every line item — access points, cabling, labour rates — against standard South African market pricing and found the job priced well above market, with equipment and labour alone inflated by several thousand rand beyond fair going rates.
Unreliable: Quoted to take a matter of hours, it stretched to three days. On one of those days the technician was due at a set time, didn't arrive, and only turned up seven hours later - with no reasonable explanation, just a string of excuses for the delay. On multiple occasions during the job, they'd ask us for money upfront to go buy supplies, then disappear for hours and return with more excuses.
Poor quality: One cable run was faulty, and it took a further three weeks after "completion" before the network was fully functional. Unacceptable for a paid, professional job that should have been right the first time.
Pressure tactics: When the initial install was "done," the technician stood in our driveway and refused to leave until paid - before we'd had any chance to test the connection or check the invoice against the work.
Overpriced, unreliable, poor quality, and pressured us on payment. Avoid.
