Horrific service and extra money demanded
What started as great service from Pollen turned into my worst nightmare. On friday the 29th of April my furniture was collected by Seraphim. All cling wrapped and fragile stickers placed on fragile items. After the collection I had a chat with with Pollen who said my load would arrive in Cape town on the 2nd of May and get delivered on the 3rd of May. On the 1st of May at 9h30 I got a call from a driver telling me they are outside my new address to deliver. I told them I was in Johannesburg boarding a flight and could only make it by 1pm (this after checking availability with the current owner of my apartment and estate agent.) At 1pm indeed I arrived at the apartment and I was approached by the driver to say I need to pay R250 ea to 3 men they had found on the street to bring my stuff into my apartment because they have an appointment at 2pm with a couple from the UK and I was late. They proceeded to off load my stuff, leave them downstairs and drive off. I then contacted the 064 whatsapp line that Pollen had been chatting to me on to ask why I had to pay additional money when I had paid the full invoice amount on Friday. He then said he would contact his drivers to comeback. They came back but stood around downstairs watching these 3 guys work. When i was explaining what was happening I was told that the driver told them I went to find these 3 men to do this. I lost it completely because this made no sense. I started taking videos and sending voice notes. Called my family and friends because I needed them to know what was happening. In the midst of all of this my side table was damaged, cling wrapped leather headboard was ripped. Glasses that were bubble wrapped and in a box with stickers clearly labelled fragile were broken. At the end of my furniture being brought into my apartment I had 5 men (2 of which were wearing reflector jackets whom I believe were Seraphim employees) standing around me speaking a language I could not understand standing around me inside my apartment. I was alone. Feeling intimidated and uncomfortable I asked what they were waiting for the 3 men who were pulled off the street wanted R500. I paid R400 in cash and the balance via cellphone transfer because there was no way I was going to be able to fight 5 men on my own. Then when they left the Seraphim employees told me not to be upset. I agreed and only after they had left was I able to actually take the time to check all the damage and I must say it was quite bad. Really disappointed in Seraphim.
Our deepest and most sincere apologies. We take no pride in the way the team handled your move.
We had informed the driver to deliver earlier only when you had given green light of your availability. However the way in which team handled the matter is very disturbing.
Management has scheduled a disciplinary meeting with the team that was responsible.
Our consultant will give you a call to discuss and resolve the issue of the damages.
Sincere apologies once again,
Seraphim Team!
