If you want pieces of plastic in your food, visit Calisto's in Kyalami! It also comes with pathetic customer service!

For the first time, I had decided to visit Callisto's in Kyalami on Sunday, 22 May 2016 at 14:30. We had ordered 3 meals and had decided to sit at the restaurant to eat there. We had ordered one Chicken strips and spicy rice for R39.90; one Jalapeño + cheese Burger for R44.90 and a Calamari Starter for R34.90. To my disappointment, whilst we were eating the Chicken strips and rice - we found a piece of plastic in the meal. Calmly, I asked for the manager to come and inspect what we had found. She then explained that the sauce for the spicy rice came from head office and assured me that that was where it must have come from. She asked if she could get me a new chicken strips and spicy rice - I went on to say no thanks because of the concern that there may be plastic in that meal too, and that I would prefer if she just gave me a refund for that meal. She agreed to this. As she took that meal away, I had taken a bite of one of the calamari tubes, only to find yet ANOTHER piece of plastic! This had upset me, so I called her to the table again and explained the next issue. Whilst this was going on, my girlfriend decided to inspect the burger to see if there were any problems with that too. Upon opening up the burger, she found some hair in this meal. The manager was then making a phone call to her "supplier" and at that point I stopped her and said, "With all due respect, I'm not interested in the supplier. My problem is with this shop. You should address my issue, make sure the customer is happy, and then take that up with whoever you have to afterwards." I also said, "the first thing you should do is give me a full refund for this entire bill." Her response was, "but you ate all the food." This infuriated me! I could tell by her attitude that she had no interest in correcting the issue or at least compensating me for the pathetic level of hygiene. She continued to have an attitude. I then said, "please can I have the contact details of your supervisor because you don't know how to help me." She responded by saying, "I am the supervisor. This is my shop." My next point was, "So then can I have the contact details of the person that issued you with the license to run this franchise." I was completely flabbergasted when she responded by saying, "Google it!" This sent me over the edge! How can a store manager have this attitude with a customer?? I tried to get her name but she refused to give it to me and so did the staff. Unfortunately in my state of anger, I swore at her. I also told her that she had no idea how to run a business around treating customers fairly. I was getting nowhere with her, I then said that she cannot think that it's okay to have that level of hygiene and that she must realise how serious of a matter that is because someone could complain and have them investigated, then there could be potential of closing them down. Not giving a ****, she said I can try to close her down see how far I get. I wanted to take a picture of the food but they had taken it away by then and when I asked them to bring it back, they refused. This is no way to run a business. The irony of the whole thing is that whilst she was making these comments, she was standing behind a counter with that sign that said something along the lines of, customers are first priority in this shop! Clearly that sign doesn't mean anything there. I want to know who I can speak to, that will address this complaint of mine. She is giving a bad reputation of the Calisto's chain! I am not happy with the hygiene of that shop as well as the service I received upon complaining about the issue. This is far from what should be done when it comes to resolving issues!
