SELPAL - avoid
No payover of funds since Thursday; - weekend's takings have not been paid over. Cannot contact SELPAL (have tried website, email and call centre), been given the run around by FNB merchant division (Selpal is a division of FNB). No help from FNB merchant "hotline". they just don't answer. Restaurants are already on their knees, banks are bouncing debit orders no matter how much we ask for their help. Another reason the economy is a goner. Small businesses dropping like flies.

So. no relief in sight. Selpal is a BEE credit card operation owned by FNB One of the big three banks here. Spent much of yesterday trying to contact their merchant division to no avail. Today again no answer. All voicemail. Brick wall. Amount is half a good week’s income for which we worked ourselves stupid on the weekend. This is our lifeblood. We live hand to mouth. Day to day. Can’t pay suppliers, staff or mortgage (all in arrears). Life was always precarious, three years of fighting to keep afloat in face of covid, worsening economy, zero support fm govt because mine is a white owned business and not considered worth saving.
Dear friend. Cherish such first world pleasures as accountability while you have them. The political divide in the us means no political party ever gets complacent and irredeemably ******* like the anc here. May this never be your lot.
