Terrible panel beater

I was sent to Stellenbosch Paneelkloppers by my insurance to fix a minor set of dings on the drivers' side from an accident involving my brand new vehicle. Initially I was very pleased with the speed of service, with the repair taking 4 days out of a predicted 3-5 days.

Unfortunately, while inspecting the vehicle prior to leaving, I noticed an ugly scratch on the bonnet, as well as another new scratch on the roof of the car. The employee that was with me during the inspection tried to allege that the marks were pre-existing, and refused to show me the pre-inspection report from the office that was filled in when I dropped the car off. After arguing about it, I made arrangements with the guy to return the following week for the vehicle to be fixed at their expense.

Upon my return, I was met by the owner who tried very hard to bully me into accepting that the damage was not caused by them, even going so far as to briefly allege that the insurance assessor's report mentioned pre-existing scratches. He came up with a convenient "pre-inspection report" *signed by him*, reporting the scratches after the vehicle had left the wash bay. Naturally they had not informed me of any such thing on the actual day in question. I then got him to open the assessor's report and it was quite clear that there was no existing damage to the car. He then got very apologetic and, after attempting to stall the repairs by another week, promptly fixed the car on the same day. Had the owner taken immediate responsibility for their mistakes instead of blatantly lying, stalling and treating me like an idiot, this situation could have turned out differently.

This business has so much potential, but the callous disregard for customers' property and the ********* actions bordering on ***** by the owner ruins it completely. I would not recommend this business to anyone, unless they enjoy having their property damaged, their time wasted and their intelligence questioned. I would rate it ZERO stars if I could.
