Terrible Service and Blatant Lying by Telephone Sales People

I got a call from Sell Direct on 2 Nov 2017 and the lady sold me the Telkom Mobile MiFi router with 5GB Telkom Mobile data and 10GB Night Surfer data. It took a long time to conclude the contract because I was very specific on the things I wanted. When she explained the consequences of failing to receive the delivery, I made her confirm that I will get 2 reminder CALLS, the first one 24 hours before delivery and the other 1 hour before delivery. She said I will be called to advise the delivery date and time but I was shocked when the delivery arrived without a call. During the contract call, the lady told me that the SIM would be activated immediately by the person who delivered the package but to my surprise the gentleman who delivered the package told me that activation will happen in 24 hours. I was disappointed when Sell Direct called me but the line (which is a Telkom Mobile line) kept on breaking so nothing was done and I decided to call Telkom Mobile (Sell Direct is impossible to get hold of) and try to get the SIM activated but Telkom Mobile Call Center agent told me that I should just wait overnight because the Sell Direct people would activate the SIM overnight.

The next day, the SIM still isn't activated and I called Telkom Mobile Call Center (Sell Direct is impossible to get hold of) again and was told by the agent that it's actually 24 to 48 hours for the activation to happen because the Sell Direct process involves the delivery slip being returned and processed by their people. I am therefore now waiting for up to 48 hours for activation yet this was sold to me with a promise that it will be immediately activated on delivery.

I have learnt that Sell Direct is only worried about selling the thing to you and the sales people will agree to anything you ask as long as it will make you answer "yes" to the contract questions. It's unfortunate that Telkom Mobile is not there to protect it's client base from such bad service and mishandling by a service provider.

I will update this review once the activation has happened. Other reviews of Sell Direct have shown me that it's not impossible to get nasty surprises once you finally get things connected and all.
