Poor service from selldirect

At the end of November 2020, I upgraded my Telkom cell phone contract via Sell Direct Marketing. Upon receipt of the package in December 2020, I noticed that the handset has a cracked screen. This damage was from the box. I did not use the handset or switch it on. I logged a call with Sell Direct Query desk who requested me to return the handset to them for investigation. Telkom verified that the handset was never used. 2 Months later after extensive back and forth correspondance between Sell Direct, Bradian (Telkom's reverse logistics service provider), Samsung and myself, Sell Direct offers me the option of having the phone repaired at my cost, or taking the handset as is. So after paying for a new handset for 2 months, without having the handset, I now have to pay for a screen replacement on a brand new phone which I received damaged. I therefor discourage anyone to do business with Sell Direct Marketing as there is no aftersales service if you have a quality problem with goods received. If Sell Direct send a customer inferior quality goods, its the customer's problem.

Thank you for advising us of your query.

The OBF SDM booked for you was rejected by Samsung, citing physical damage. We provided the repair centre with proof that the unit had never been used and was in fact delivered in that damaged condition. The matter was escalated with management at both the repair centre and at Samsung but remained rejected.

Ultimately through special permissions we were able to collect the damage unit from you and replace it with a brand new unit.

Please understand that your situation was unique and is in no way how OBF escalations usually go.

Please accept our sincerest apologies for the delay in resolution.

Kind Regards,
SDM Team
