Selfmed Selfnet one big *******.
I obtained a pre-authorisation number from Selfnet for a gallbladder operation. Lucinda gave me the authorisation number but never mention anything about a shortage of funds. I went for the operation on the 29th of September. After twee weeks I received my statement from Selfnet showing that they did not paid for the theatre stock and equipment used, reason stated depleted funds. Why did they not inform me before the operation there are only limited funding available? How can the funds be depleted if they state on the contracts hospitalisation is covered 100% and if it was the first time since we joined the medical aid in 2015 that any one of the beneficiaries was hospitalised and had an operation so again please how can the funds be depleted???????? If I was aware of how you are putting people under a false impression when taking out your medical aid I would have definitely not joined Selfmed. This is the first time that I am experiencing that a medical aid pays less than 50% of the total hospital bill, I think all the social media platforms will enjoy this little information to be warned against Selfmed. my medical aid number is ********** 364. I need feedback on why the account was not paid and how are you going to fix the problem or I will have to take further steps by getting the ombudsman involved. This complaint was lodge on the 18th of October on the Selfnet site but no feedback until today shows the commitment of Selfnet towards their customers.
